For the first time in the history of Jamaica, the Reggae Legend Bob Marley’s birthday will be officially celebrated with the launch of the documentary produced by Marley foundation. The venue for the “Africa Unite concert” in Caribbean islands will be at James Bond beach in St Mary in Jamaica on the 23rd of February 2008. Various reggae artists from different parts of the world as well as members of the Marley family are expected to perform on this day at Jamaica and the list of performing artists includes Ziggy Marley, Julian Marley, The I-threes, The Melody Makers etc.

Activities and celebrations which will last for more than a month are planned by the Jamaican Government, to express their tribute to the legendary singer as well as the social reformer who worked for uniting the African countries. Programs like symposium about Africa Unite, exhibition of photographs of Bob Marley, creative expression competition for school students, a friendly football match competition and many other activities are in store. The most important attraction will be the rendition of Bob Marley hits by the various artists. Every year “Tribute to the Reggae Legend” concert is performed in different parts of U.S to pay tribute to the music legend Bob Marley.
