Although the band sings in Swedish, Dungen has somehow managed to rise in the inner circles of American indie rock. Akin to Iceland’s Sigur Ros, the majority of Dungen fans appreciate the fine instrumentals of this neo-psychedelic progressive rock band. Plus, lead singer Gustav Ejstes’ voice is one of a kind, bearing similarity to Led Zeppelin’s Robert Plant. With the release of their new album, 4, the band has jumped on tour. Check out more information here.

Icelandic post-rockers Sigur Ros kicked off their nearly sold-out North American tour last Wednesday. A band that fuses together minimalist and classical instrumentals to swell up auditoriums and theatres with magical, sweeping, and inspiring melodies while singing in Icelandic and made-up languages should have a sold-out tour. That being said, Sigur Ros’ music will make you want to do this.

My Bloody Valentine rarely tours so it’s a big deal that they are currently on their North American tour which is pretty much sold-out everywhere. One of the stops in their tour is their co-curated ATP New York Music Festival which kicked off today. Indie rock fans who havent seen the line-up should do so in the privacy of their own homes as they will orgasm upon first glance. Playing tonight, albums all the way through, sponsored by Dont Look Back: Thurston Moore, Meat Puppets, Built to Spill, Shellac, and Tortoise- and that’s just day one. The second day includes notables Shellac and Les Savvy Fav. My Bloody Valentine picked out bands Yo La Tengo, Dinosaur Jr. and BRIAN JONESTOWN MASSACRE to join them in playing the third day. It’s not fair. It’s not fair. It’s not fair.
