The world renowned singer Jon Bon Jovi is touring the world with his concert series in order to raise funds for the research of Lung Cancer. He has already done a concert in New York and said that it is a tribute to his father who died of Lung Cancer in 2007. The cause became all the more personnel to the Rockers from New Jersey when one of the bandmate lost his father to the same disease. The concert at the Hammerstein Ballroom in Manhattan on Feb 12th was dedicated to the Guitarist Richie Sambora’s father, Adam Sambora and was specifically aimed at helping lung cancer victims. The band was planning to start their “Lost High Way World Tour” when the incident happened.
It has been announced that the money collected through, this year long concert tour will be donated to the Memorial SIoan- Kettering Cancer Center where Adam Sambora Received treatment for cancer. A non – profit group called Stand Up for Cure has organized this concert series and will feature other artists like Andrea Bocelli and Jerry Sein feld. Stand Up for a Cause has also commissioned three cancer mobile care centers in New York City and these centers will be named after the guitarist’s parents Adam and Joan.
